Every player in AFK Journey eventually bumps into the Wishlist system, and if you don’t pay attention early on, it can bite you later. The Wishlist is your best tool to control which heroes you actually pull, and by 2026 it remains the single most important factor for a smooth progression curve. You’ll unlock the Wishlist after performing 30 pulls on the All-Hero Recruitment banner, while the Epic Recruitment banner gives you a Wishlist right from the start.
Once you fill every slot, any character that drops from that banner will come from your choices exclusively. No more random luck ruining your strategy. This is why proper setup matters so much — a wrong pick can waste months of resources.
Let’s clarify the two banner types first. On the All-Hero Recruitment banner, you can select two A-Level and two S-Level heroes per faction.
For the Epic Recruitment banner, you only get five slots, and in nearly every case you’ll fill those with S-Level heroes because their duplicates are so rare.
Why is this distinction so critical? Ascending an S-Level hero requires both duplicates and Acorns — and you only need 8 copies to reach Supreme+. An A-Level hero, on the other hand, demands a staggering 64 copies to hit Supreme+. Yes, sixty-four. One wrong slot early in the game and you’ll feel the slowdown for weeks.
One-Copy Wonders: Grab These First
Before you start investing heavily, there are a few heroes who function amazingly well with just a single copy. They won’t carry you forever, but they’ll power through the early content without needing any duplicates.
Prioritize getting one copy of the following, in this order:

The Twins are the undisputed first pick for any account. Get them to S+ before even thinking about another Cele/Hypo. After that, you need to choose your focus.
